ASSIST offers individual counselling offices, small group or conference rooms. All rooms are clean, professional and modern. 

Our offices are safe, private and confidential.  They are a place for healing.

 Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an recognized psychotherapy that provides rapid relief from PTSD, Trauma and other mental health concerns.  Created by Lanny Rosenwig, ART is quickly becoming one of the most recognized and tlked about treatments.

ASSIST is proud to announce that they have the only ART certified therapists in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge area.  ASSIST is also pleased to host the ART-Canada, a counselling and training institute dedicated to the promotion and expansion of ART..

  Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) was developed by Marsha Linehan and is a highly effective form of therapy for people dealing with overwhelming emotions, attachment difficulties, suicidality, self-harm.

  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective therapy for treating a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and grief.  Created by Francine Shapiro to help people process traumatic memories, EMDR has become one of the worlds most validated treatment processes.

 Solution-focused therapy is a goal-directed collaborative psychotherapy that focuses on solutions and strengths rather than problems and deficits.  Created by Steve de Shazer and Insso Kim Berg, SFBT is a radically different approach to traditional counselling psychotherapy.

ASSIST Counsellors have extensive training and experience in working in a SFBT environmment.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy


 The use of virtual and augmented reality to address multiple conditions began in the 19990 with studies of how VR could be used to treat PTSD.  Today, there are hunderds of sutudies showing the effectiveness  VRT.   At The counsellors at ASSIST have been specially trained in VR therapy and have access to a wide range of virtual environments, tools and resources.

Through the Virtual Clinic, our therapists work together with your psychiatrist, doctor and other health professionals to ensure stong collaboration and continuity of care. You benefit from a diagnosis, medication recommendations or monitoring, and psychotherapy — all from the convenience of our offices at 30 Duke St. W. Kitchener.


We support your recovery through timely psychiatry consultations delivered by caring and dedicated psychiatrists.


Psychiatric and medical services are covered by OHIP and are provided to you at no additional charge.  

 Counselling services are covered by most benefits and EAP programs.
